APT Macau Day 1b

August 30, 2008

A total of 154 players took to the green felt on Day 1b of the Asian Poker Tour in Macau. This puts the total number of players up to 257. The most recognizable names on the list were Aussie player John Juanda, Huck Seed, Mike McDonald and Tony Dunst. Dunst incidentally managed to end up very near the top of the leader board when play closed for the day.

Terrence Chan crashed out early in the tournament after a collision with Julian Powell whose higher flush forced him out of the tournament. Huck Seed was also unsuccessful as was John Juanda who both hit the rail during the day. Only 46 players managed to survive and they will go on to join the remaining players from day 1a and continue to battle it out for the money and the title.

The top ten chip stacks are as follows:
Ryan Gentry 86,000
Masaki Ichikawa 75,000
Tony Dunst 63,000
JJ Liu 55,000
Michael Bonzon 53,000
William Te Jr 53,000
Michael Pedley 52,000
Markus Mansour 48,000
Michele Ferrari 48,000
Tyrone Kerrigan 44,000

We wish all the participants the very best of luck!
